Your role and responsibilities Strategy: Creates, implements and reviews assigned area industry segment strategy. Drives top level growth by focusing on penetration, innovation and expansion Targets: Defines key application targets (example volume, prices, portfolio mix) and ensures these are achieved for the segments Ensures business plans are in place both as direct accounts and with channel partners Drives the growth of the top line in target industry segment Market analysis: Activates operation intelligence, benchmarking and analysis in order to identify Industry segment trends, practices, product gaps, competitor strategy, etc Understands relevant regulations and standards (example on cyber security) in the selected market segments to capture new business opportunities Marketing: Ensures ABB's value proposition for the target segment is developed and well communicated (internally and externally) Supports local Sales organizations to ensure they are positively perceived in the target segments Actively participates to reinforce ABB's visibility by strengthening external market segment communication in coordination with the Marketing Communication team and by participating in dedicated customer events and segment trade fairs Account management: Ensures that the major accounts in the segments are identified and prioritized Maps market requirements and opportunities to actions for local sales teams, coordinates with Division and other relevant teams (such as Group/Strategic Account teams) to implement these Customer relationship: Builds and maintains strong relationships at senior levels with the key stakeholders Contracts and negotiations: Ensures the team is well prepared and has the necessary internal support to pursue and manage large project contracts Leads or participates in the negotiation of legal and commercial international frame agreements Reporting: Uses standard reporting tools to accurately identify future opportunities and measure progress by segment People leadership and development: Ensures (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed Coaches, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR (Human Resource) policies Drives and ensures know how sharing and cross Division and cross country collaboration
Qualifications for the role - Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree is preferred
- 5 years of sales experience with Direct to End Customer or Service
- 8 years of industry related experience desired to include; sales, instrumentation, measurement analytics
- A willingness to be on the road visiting customers regionally up to 50 percent
- Candidates must already have a work authorization to permit them to work for ABB in the US
