Front-end Web Developer and Designer
Rock Island Auction Company (RIAC), the #1 firearms auction house in the world, is searching for full-time  Front-end Web Developer and Designer  at Rock Island, Illinois!  This vital role supports front-end web development by bridging the gap between graphical design and technical implementation. The Front-end Web Developer will take an active role in both defining how the application looks and works. Help build user friendly, scalable, and efficient front-end solutions to further RIAC!

What are the hours?
This position is 100% on-site at the  Rock Island, IL location.  Core business hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position also has approximately six (6) auction weekends throughout the year and may need to work additional overtime on weekends as business needs require.

Qualified candidates meet the following requirements:

• Experience in wireframes, prototyping, and the design process required;
• Experience with the following required:
  • Typescript/JavaScript (React, Express, Node, and REST)
  • HTML/CSS including JSX and Tailwind CSS;
  • Version Control (Git, GitLab, Git-flow);
  • SEO best practices;
• Knowledge of MySQL and MS SQL Server preferred;
• Basic understanding of Vitest preferred;
• Familiarity with the ELK Stack and Sentry preferred;
• Front end and user experience design experience preferred; and
• Knowledge of AWS (Lambda, S3, ECR, EC2, SES, SQS, SNS) preferred.

Physical Requirements
Occasionally moving and transporting up to 50 pounds. Constant sedentary work for prolonged periods up to 100% of the time with frequent ascending, descending, or positioning self to maintain moving and transporting technology devices, wires, supplies, and equipment. Must be able to constantly communicate and exchange accurate information. Must be able to detect, identify, inspect, troubleshoot, and assess issues or problems relevant to web development. Constantly operates and uses computer and other relevant equipment and office machinery. Constantly works with and around firearms, bladed weaponry, militaria, historic relics, and valuable collectibles.
