Key Stage 4 Geography Teacher | Teach Abroad | Teach in Qatar

My client is looking for a secondary high school teacher of Geography to join its team for the next academic year. The school is located in Qatar. It was launched in 1996 to deliver the UK National Curriclum to local Arab students. It is a fully accredited school by the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and Edexcel. It was recently also accredited by Qatar National School Accreditation (QNSA).

The school aims to prepare a generation of female students that are faithful to their origin, committed, dedicated to academic excellence and engaged with humanity. 

The school promotes its students to critically think, be responsible and prepare students to face modern challenges and contribute to local and global society.

Salary Package

**TAX-FREE salary ranging from 9000-13000 QAR per month

**FREE Furnished apartment, either one bedroom or two depending on the seniority of the position.

**Electric and water bills paid (not more than 200 Qr.)

**FREE Wireless internet provided

**FREE Round-trip tickets yearly to point of origin or other destination with equal ticket price

**FREE National Health insurance registration

**One-time shipping allowance of QR 1400

**50% of the teacher’s children fees (Maximum 3 children)

**A 2-year contract that is renewable

The school caters from students from KG1 up to Grade 12. The building is segregated for Early Years, Primary and Secondary.  Students come from a range of countries such as: Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Bosnia, United States, Iraq, Syria, Bahrain, Oman, Spain, UAE, South African, Libya, Canada, Pakistan, Sudan, Malaysia, Srilanka, France, Iran, Australia, Algeria, Portugal, Singapore and United Kindom. There about 1400 students on roll with about 170 staff. Most of the staff are highly experience with more than 5 years teaching experience and some have over 20 years in education.

Requirements to Apply

**Degree in Geography

**A PGCE in Humanities or a valid teaching license in Social Studies

**Ideally 2 years teaching experience

**Western-trained preferably

**An excellent command of written and spoken English

**Tech savvy

**Have experience of the UK National Curriculum 

**Candidates that have experience teaching in an Islamic faith school will be preferred or those that have taught in the GCC

The school was launched to deliver an international curriculum to students maintaining Islamic values and beliefs. The school has about 14000 female students at the school and is thriving and growing. The academic results have improved a lot which explains the reason why more and more females want to attend this school. **Plan and deliver highly effective Geography lessons

**To deliver a differentiated curriculum for students and to support the department

**To monitor and support students as a Teacher/Form Tutor

**To raise standards of students attainment

**Create resources for your lessons

**Carry out lunchtime duty

**Attend Humanities Department meetings

**Attend staff briefing

**Help underachieving students after school

**Take part in school activities

**Ensure your marking/assessment is up to date

**Differentiate your lessons to meet the needs of your students

**Be an excellent role model for the students

**Create amazing wall displays to promote the work of students

**Attend parents evening when needed

**To lead, monitor and evaluate the assessment and feedback to students in line with the whole school and

department policy

**To follow department monitoring and tracking systems relating to students attainment, progress and

achievement

**Mark, grade and give written/verbal and diagnostic feedback as required

**Undertake assessment of students as requested by external examination bodies, curriculum areas and

school procedures

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:

A salary from 9000 up to 13000   QAR (Qatar Riyal)per month based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE
