JOB SUMMARY:

Oversee all daily operations and provides assistance to the nurses in the Telemetry units with interpretation of cardiac rythms of patients under the direct supervision of a nurse. Performs in accordance with standard written procedures,

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Prepare technicians schedule assuring proper coverage for daily operations and also staffing and planning Ensures patients are monitored continuously for a 24 hour period.
2. Ensure nurses are informed of changes in rythms immediately.
3. Will maintain a log of telemetry use and assure telemetry units are in working order when not in use.
4. Assists in keeping PI tools up to date in the unit
5. Assumes nursing assistant duties when needed
6. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

• Required : Must have completed a rythm recognition course approved by the facility.
• Required:  Associates Degree in related field.
• Preferred: EMT (B, I or P), Medical Assistant, CNA or equivalent education/training
• Minimum of 5 years' previous acute care experience required.
• Ability to maintain good planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergency requests.
• Ability to serve as a lead worker to subordinate personnel and the ability to assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Director.
• Current BLS
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
