Job Description
Summary Position: Project Manager II or Senior Project Manager (or equivalent Engineering title) performing the role of Control Account Manager. This position is for a Technical Project Manager / Control Account Manager (CAM) in the Purchased Products Engineering Division. The candidate will be responsible for planning, tracking, and delivering all project scope through project management, scope definition, risk mitigation, schedule forecasting, and cost monitoring.
Duties and Responsibilities - Evaluates, determines, and drives project management activities to manage multiple moderately complex projects.
- Develops cost and schedule framework for projects and deliverables; intervenes as necessary to ensure cost and schedule commitments remain on track.
- Provides primary support and guidance for financial planning, monitoring, scheduling, preparation, and release of technical/schedule information required for project execution.
- Defines and establishes project element definitions, maintenance of schedules, and tracks engineering releases associated with assigned projects.
- Although the candidate will not be directly responsible for execution of technical scope, the candidate must understand a basic level of technical detail and definition in order to communicate technical issues and to adequately provide project status updates.
- Supports data aggregation for research and reporting of forecast execution.
- Leads forecast modeling so accurate data can be regularly viewed as needed.
- Leads project overage investigations and completes tasks to re-align funding.
- Regularly update and provide project status reports to internal Program Management and external DOE Customers.
- Performs some administrative and logistical liaison roles within company, with Department of Energy laboratories, integrated contractors, and other government agencies for one or more programs. May lead one or more elements of cross-functional facilitation.
- Supports business development and company initiatives as required.
- Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established ES&H requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment.
- Ability to adapt on the fly to real time changes and handle ambiguous situations.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to integrate complex concepts and information with project management systems and processes.
- Ability to provide technical and programmatic guidance in project management.

You Must Have - Two or more years of relevant experience in engineering, business or program management
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- US Citizenship required in order to obtain and maintain US Department of Energy Q-level security clearance.

- Proficient in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools (IPCS Primavera P6, ERP IFMS).
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) principles and processes.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Advanced knowledge of business concepts and principles associated with project forecasts and costs.
- Established knowledge of customers, products, technologies, and processes.
- Applied engineering experience in a technology and/or manufacturing environment.
